On your vacation in Mala Fatra, you should also take a hike to the Horné Jánošíkov holes. This unusually beautiful place is accessible from the village of Terchová. It is located only 2.5 kilometers from the center of the village and you can drive to it comfortably by car. The Upper Jánošíkove holes, also called Veľké Jánošíkove holes, are a place of unforgettable experience. A trip to this system of gorges and canyons is one of the most beautiful in Slovakia. The path through Horné diery leads over precipices on metal bridges and ladders over the river. Caution is advised when crossing. Splashing water can make walkways and ladders slippery. This hike is therefore more suitable for adults and more fit hikers. The Upper Jánošík Holes are one-way, in the winter they are closed to tourists. The descent back to Terchová is along the green marked tourist route. If you want to extend the trip, you can continue to Medzirozsutca saddle. From there you can climb to Veľký or Malý Rozsutec.
