Description of the attraction

The flooded Kraľovany quarry is also known locally as Šútovské lake. It is located in the Riek district in the village of Kraľovany. The lake is primarily used as a natural swimming pool and will enchant you at first glance. The surrounding terraced slopes are reminiscent of scenes from well-known western films. Thanks to the clear turquoise water, the flooded Kraľovany quarry is a popular recreational location. Here you will meet not only Slovak but also foreign tourists. Due to its northern location, the water temperature is slightly lower. During the summer heat, it therefore offers you welcome refreshment. There are two large beaches near the lake, from which there is relatively easy access to the water. Access to smaller beaches is a bit more difficult. Nudists will also enjoy themselves here, for whom their own beach is reserved. The flooded Kraľovany quarry offers everything you need for a beautiful day by the water. Refreshments are provided by buffets where you can buy traditional swimming pool goodies. There is a motor station in close proximity. You can park near the lake for free.
