Description of the attraction

The beautiful nature of Orava attracts many tourists and admirers of natural beauty every year. Unique and very rare natural phenomena are hidden in its mountains and valleys. One of them is the monumental Šútovský waterfall. Šútovský waterfall is located near the villages of Šútovo and Kraľovany. Its height is an impressive 38 meters and it is also the highest waterfall in Mala Fatra. If you want to go to it, you can choose from several hiking trails. The fastest way is from the village of Šútovo. This easy route follows an approximately 3.7 km long stony path through the forest. You can also go on this trip with smaller children. The Šútovský stream, with the waters of which the Šútovský waterfall is fed, originates in an interesting rock formation called Mojžišove pramene. You will have to walk another 1 km to them. The stream is 2.5 meters wide directly above the waterfall. You can end your trip to the Šútovský waterfall at the Šútovský lake, which serves as a natural swimming pool during the hot summer months. Šútovský lake will appeal to you with its beautiful turquoise color and crystal clear water. It is located on the site of a flooded quarry. The surrounding terraced shores of the lake resemble beautiful scenery from the movie Vinnetou.
