Ruiny hradu Teplica (Pustý hrad)
Description of the attraction
The spa town of Sklené Teplice has a lot to offer all tourists. The remains of Teplica Castle are also hidden in the local forests. Teplica Castle is one of the rarely visited, unknown among tourists, but interesting places. Teplica Castle was built in the 13th century on a strategic location, thanks to which it served to control the access road to Banská Štiavnica. At that time, the surrounding territory belonged to the archbishop of Ostrihom. The last written mention of it is from 1602. It is assumed that it has been abandoned since then. Part of the ruins was used in the past as building material for the construction of the local church. The road to Teplica Castle is not difficult, its length is only 2.5 km. A pleasant trip awaits you in a beautiful natural environment. The tourist trail from Sklenné Teplice leads in the last few meters along the old castle road to the castle gate. If you go to Teplica Castle, don't forget to stop at its highest point, where you can enjoy a nice view.
