Description of the attraction

The second highest peak of Malá Fatra is Malý Kriváň. Nevertheless, this place is not one of the frequently visited ones. You will meet far fewer tourists here than on the neighboring Veľk Kriván or Rozsutc. Malý Kriváň is a place for a beautiful, relatively demanding day hike that will fulfill the expectations of even the most demanding tourists. Climbing is an experience not only during the warm months, but also in winter. This is why winter tourism and ski mountaineering are popular activities in this area of Mala Fatra. From the top, you will have a charming view of the snow-white landscape around you. In the summer, the ascent to Malý Kriváň will reward you with a view of richly blooming mountain meadows and the surrounding hills of Mala Fatra. You will be able to admire the ends of Veľké Kriván, Malé and Veľké Rozsutec. You can see as far as Veľká Fatra and, with good visibility, Veľký Choč and Babia hora, the ridges of the Low and Western Tatras. The wooden peak of Malé Kriván is suitable for camping. You can therefore spend the night here, which will surely become an unforgettable experience. The sunset in the veil of soft clouds is really beautiful in the mountain area. The bright sunrise from behind the surrounding hills is equally impressive. If you go to Malý Kriváň, do not miss this captivating natural scenery. There are several hiking trails leading to Malý Kriváň. The fastest route leads from Vrátná — Stara Dolina (approximately 6.5 km). You can also get here from Bránice or Krasňany.
