Socha Ježiša Krista v obci Klin
Description of the attraction
The highest statue of Christ in Slovakia is located on Grapa hill above the small village of Klin. This unique rarity is a copy of the famous Brazilian sculpture in Rio de Janeiro and was created by the local folk master Peter Ganobjak. The tallest statue of Jesus in Slovakia reaches a height of 9.5 m. Its weight is also astonishing — up to 23 tons. The hands of the statue point to the whole of Orava, which they are supposed to protect. If you go all the way to the statue, you will also be rewarded with a beautiful view of the Orava landscape. The surroundings of the monument are nicely landscaped, you can have a pleasant rest here, believers will find peace for contemplation. There are benches, a gazebo and flowers, which together complete the unique atmosphere of the place. You can go to the Grapa hill by car, but a better option is to park below it and overcome the few meters of height on your own. Even if you face a challenging steep climb on the way up, the journey is not long. Grapa Hill and the highest statue of Christ in Slovakia are an ideal excursion spot for anyone who wants to indulge in a little physical exertion combined with an unusual place for mental rest.
