Description of the attraction

The Orava Gallery in Dolny Kubín is located in the historic County House from the 17th century on Hviezdoslav Square. Here you can admire more than 8,000 works of art, which attract many visitors every year. The Orava gallery is also the second most visited gallery in Slovakia. Rare exhibits from the 15th to the 21st century will bring you an extraordinary artistic experience. The gallery boasts up to five permanent exhibitions, short-term exhibitions are held in the other four spaces. During the year, 10-12 of them take turns here. You can view the works of Slovak and foreign authors in a pleasant, intimate atmosphere. The Orava Gallery organizes other events in addition to exhibitions. You can participate in animation and educational programs, creative workshops for children and youth. An experienced lecturer can accompany you through the art tour, various concerts, theater performances and other cultural events are also held here throughout the year.
