The highest observation tower in Javorníky is on Stratenc near the Slovak-Czech border, between the villages of Papradno and Makov. This place is one of the interesting and attractive locations in the Trenčín region. The wooden lookout tower on Stratenc was opened to the public in 2008. It stands on its top, is 8 meters high and has a viewing platform at a height of 5 meters. You will have a perfect view of the Slovak and Moravian sides from it. From the observation tower you can admire beautiful views of the peaks of the Hostín-Vsetín Mountains and the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy Mountains. You will also see Strážovské vrchy, Súľovské skaly and Malá Fatra. There is a shelter built near the lookout where you can relax. The information board will show you the interesting things about this place, you will also find a map here. Near it is also the "Three Crosses" monument, which is dedicated to three fallen soldiers. The lookout tower on Stratenc is accessible from different directions within the Javorník ridge route. You can go here from the Kohútka - Portáš recreation center or from the Kasárne resort. The hike can also be planned starting from the settlement of Papradno - Podjavorník or from the villages of Veľké and Malé Karlovice.
