Chodník Janka Bojmíra
Description of the attraction
The Janko Bojmír Trail is one of the few named hiking trails in Slovakia. This well-known founder of Slovak tourism was born in 1887 in Jazernica. He was known as an active tourist, publicist, photographer and marker. The blue-marked Janko Bojmír hiking trail begins in the Gader cottage settlement. From there, it continues through the Konský dol and the Muráňa massif towards the Tlstá hill (1,373 m above sea level), from which you can enjoy impressive views. The trail continues past the Mažarná cave, ending in the Gaderská dolina near Blatnické Castle. The Janko Bojmír trail rises slightly at the beginning, later there are sections where you will have to test your skill and fitness. Such sections also include a section that zigzags and rises between smaller and larger cliffs and caves, where it gains in intensity. Here you will be able to feel the rising altitude not only in the air, but also in your bones. When you overcome the difficult climb to Tlstú, a steep descent awaits you. You will have to hold on with chains on the steeply descending rocky section. The path continues below rock overhangs, where the descent is moderated. You will follow it to the Mažarná cave, and at the end of this wonderful, challenging hike, you can refresh yourself in the Gader stream.
