If you are looking for an easy hike on Spiš, Bukovec Hill is the ideal place. A marked hiking trail leads to its peak, which reaches more than a thousand meters. Bukovec Peak is located between the villages of Švedlár and Poráč, and the reward for climbing it will be a beautiful view of the surrounding area. From the meadow peak you can see the Hnilecká valley, the Hornádská kotlina and the eastern part of the Low Tatras with Kráľová Hoľa. In clear weather, it is possible to see the entire Tatras. Towards the south you can admire the view of the Volovské vrchy with the highest peak Zlatý stool. Bukovec peak is an ideal place for peaceful and interesting hiking. Its slopes hide an extensive mountain bog with a rich occurrence of several species of rare and protected plants. Some rare species of animals are also found here. The route leads from the villages of Švedlár, Poráč and Závadka. It is physically easy, it is only 6.4 km from Švedlár, and you can go on it even with children.
