Description of the attraction

Among the most visited hills of Veľká Fatra is also the well-known Čierny kamen to tourists. The peak is characterized by a sharp and rocky profile, which creates a beautiful contrast with the surrounding broad sticks. It is precisely because of this that it cannot be overlooked during the hike. Black stone is home to a large number of rare and endangered mountain flora taxa. From the elevation of Čierny kamen to Hrubý grúň, a forest-like growth has been preserved in this location on an area of over 67 ha. Part of it has therefore been a protected area since 1964. The hike to this place is definitely worth the effort. From the top you can see a wonderful view of the southern part of the mountain - the rocks of the Black Stone. These precipices are compared to the Italian Dolomites for their appearance and look really impressive. The peak itself with its dark rhombus cap gives the location a stern character. The marked path does not lead to the top. You can walk around it along the educational trail with many information panels. You can take several routes to the Black Stone. Starting points can be the village of Vyšné Revúce, a lesser-known route leads here from Liptovské Revúce.
