Description of the attraction

The dominant and symbol of the central Slovak town of Zvolen is undoubtedly the national cultural monument Zvolen Castle. This Gothic-Renaissance castle was built in the 70s of the 14th century by the Hungarian king Ludovít I. At that time it served as a hunting seat of the Hungarian kings. Today Zvolen Castle is under the management of the Slovak National Gallery and is used for the presentation of its exhibitions. Here you can view the exhibition of copies of the works of Master Pavle from Levoča. If you are interested in European art, here you will find a selection of important works by European artists.
