Description of the attraction

The floating water mill in Kolárovo is a unique technical monument and the only floating mill preserved in Slovakia. This national cultural monument is anchored in a natural area on a dead arm of the Danube not far from Kolárov. It is built on ships between which there is a mill wheel. In the past, such mills were used to grind grain and other cereals on the Danube, Little Danube and Váh. You can reach the mill via a wooden bridge with a length of 86 meters, which also has one first to its credit. It is the longest bridge with a wooden structure in Europe. The floating water mill in Kolárovo will introduce you to the exhibition of the Museum of Water Milling. You can view the technological part, as well as the original equipment of the mill room.
