Vršatské bradlá
Description of the attraction
The White Carpathian Mountains hide many natural gems. Among them are also the beautiful and mysterious Vrsat ramps. You can see the Vrsat ramps from afar. This massive limestone massif is a popular place among tourists and occasional day-trippers, as evidenced by their large number of visitors. At a glance, they resemble white needles, towers and walls that rise above deep green forests. During your visit, you can admire the beautiful nature and the unique splendor of the rock formations. However, the Vrsat shoals are also interesting from a paleontological point of view. In the local limestones from which the shoals are made, there are many shallow sea fossils. In the past, they also protected the Vršatec castle, which belonged to the system of guard castles on the Hungarian border. Today you can only find its ruins here. A 6 km long educational trail leads through the Vršatské bradlá. The circular route starts in the village of Vršatské Podhradie and you will see 10 information panels on it. From them you will learn interesting information about the nature of the White Carpathians and the royal history of the location. During the hike, wonderful views of Stredné Považie, the river Váh and the surrounding mountains await you.
