Description of the attraction

In the beautiful environment of the Demänovská valley in the Low Tatras, the natural monument Vrbicke pleso spreads out as an ornament of this place. Vrbicke pleso is the largest natural lake in the territory of the Low Tatras. It lies at an altitude of 1,113 m above sea level, is of glacial origin and was created when the valley was covered by a moraine. At its deepest point, it reaches a depth of 8 meters. A hiking trail leads around the lake, where you can admire its beauty from every angle. Within 20 minutes, you will see wonderful photogenic views of the lake and its surroundings. You can also stop by the information boards that inform about the formation of the lake and the diverse flora on its banks. You can relax on wooden benches or in gazebos. You can sit here in peace and admire the beautiful nature. There is a children's playground for children. For high mountain hiking enthusiasts, Vrbicke pleso is also an excellent starting point. From here you can go on several hiking trails and ascents to the peaks. The place can also be reached by car, which you park near the Pošta hotel. It is only 200 meters from there to the Vrbicka Pleso following the yellow tourist sign.
