The majestic Víľaš Castle was built on a low spur of the Javorie hill above the village of Víľaš. This originally Gothic castle was rebuilt into a hunting lodge during the 14th century. A few centuries later, it was rebuilt again, this time into a castle mansion. Vígľa Castle is included in the list of National Cultural Monuments and is one of Slovakia's unique properties. After extensive reconstruction, today it serves as the congress hotel The Grand Víľaš. The charm of the historic premises of the castle is also accessible to the public.
