Description of the attraction
The Veľká Domaša water reservoir is located in the district of Vranov nad Topľou. This multi-purpose water structure was created by damming the Ondava River near the flooded village of Veľká Domaša. It was built between 1962 and 1967 and supplies the entire region with useful and drinking water. The warm climatic conditions of the place create ideal conditions for recreation. The Veľká Domaša reservoir is sought after by visitors who come to bathe here, you can also engage in water sports and fishing. Domaša is one of the warmest reservoirs in Slovakia and there are several recreation centers in its vicinity. In the summer months, the Veľká Domaša Water Reservoir offers entertainment even at night. Most of the recreation centers organize discos, there is no shortage of interesting cultural events. Among the most popular are the Domaša fest and the popular Miss Domaša competition.
