Do you know where the lowest place in Slovakia is located? It is in the cadastre of the border village of Klin nad Bodrogom. Although tourists are mostly attracted by the impressive views from the mountain tops, this interesting location also has a lot to offer. The lowest place in Slovakia is marked with a granite column, on which you can read information about its altitude. It is only 94.3 m. When you look around, you find that a vast plain surrounds you. It is bounded on one side by the flooded Bodrog River, on the other by the ruins of an early Gothic church that was built in the 13th century. The lowest place in Slovakia can be reached comfortably on foot or by bicycle. The road leads from Klin nad Bodrogom along a path that leads through a field, around a small lake and through a forest. You can also go there from the wine village of Viničky.
