Teplické serpentíny
Description of the attraction
If you are looking for a pleasant location for a family trip, Teplické Serpentíny definitely deserves your attention. This name hides a system of lakes and streams on the slope of Teplica hill above Turčianská Štiavnička, which flow in serpentines along the mountain trail. A trip to this locality is a real balm for the soul. The thermal serpentines were built by the noble Révaj family in 1870. You can admire their mansion, mausoleum and park in the village of Turčianska Štiavnička. Teplice serpentines are an ingenious system that brings water to the village. They are surrounded by a dense forest that separates them from the road. The constant flow of water has created charming travertine formations in this place. During the walk, you can admire the travertine mounds, terraces and cascades, which together with the trickles of water create small waterfalls. The path between the serpentines leads to the top of the Teplica hill, from where you will have a wonderful view of the Mala Fatra ridge. In 2008, this little-visited location received the honor of being included among the "Seven Wonders of Turkey". The road to the Teplické serpentines leads from the mineral spring at the southern end of the village of Turčianske Štiavničky. The trail is not marked, but due to frequent use, it is easily visible.
