Pútnické miesto - Hora Zvir
Description of the attraction
A mountain called Hora Zvir rises above the village of Litmanová up to an altitude of 820 meters. Its magical environment is surrounded by beautiful nature, its spiritual atmosphere also appeals to believers. According to tradition, the Virgin Mary appeared here in a small room of a wooden log cabin - maidan, which belonged to Vasiľ Korčák from 5/8/1990 to 8/8/1995, to the then 11-year-old Iveta Korčáková and 13-year-old Katarína Česelková. Through two young visionaries, she left spiritual revelations and the feeling of her presence remains here to this day. Zvir Mountain became an important pilgrimage site after these events. It is also part of the Jacobean Way, which includes dozens of pilgrimage sites in many European countries. The main pilgrimage to Hora Zvir takes place on the Sunday after the first Friday of the month and on August 3 and 4. However, believers come here in large numbers regularly. On September 7, 2008, this place was declared a Greek Catholic Marian pilgrimage site of the Prešov Archeparchy. The area of the pilgrimage site in Litmanová is quite extensive. Here you can visit the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Spring of St. John the Baptist. For pilgrims, it represents the source of rebirth and renewal in the Holy Spirit.
