Description of the attraction

Would you like to see the highest cross in Slovakia with your own eyes? Then your steps should lead to Záhorie. The Millenium Cross rises up on a large grassy plain near the road leading from the village of Rybky to the village of Oreské. The Millennium Cross was made and consecrated in 2000 on the occasion of the jubilee of the birth of Jesus Christ and in his glory. It has a height of up to 27 m and an arm span of 9 m. A colorful relief with five doves is placed at the place where the arms cross, which are supposed to symbolize the five parts of the world. The lower part of the Millennium Cross is made up of the chapel of Divine Mercy, inside which is the relic of St. Faustina. An access path will lead you to the cross. On it, you pass around 14 simple crosses that symbolize the Stations of the Cross. You can take an easy walk here, there are benches along the path that invite visitors to relax and meditate. A nice view of the surroundings is offered from the cross.
