Dolné diery - Jánošíkove diery

Description of the attraction

Jánošík holes in the Rozsutec National Nature Reserve are a charming place in Krivánská Mala Fatra. This system of gorges and canyons consists of three parts: Lower Holes, New Holes and Upper Holes. Dierový potok flows through the area, which also formed Jánošík's holes. You can reach Dolné diery by following a marked educational trail. Here you can admire two waterfalls with a height of 1 m and 3.5 m. In the same way as in New and Horny Holes, here too you can find bizarre rock formations, overhangs and ravines lining your path. This place also has a characteristic climate, which is why various types of plants and animals live there. A trip to Dolné diery is also suitable for families with children. The route is not difficult, you cross Dierový potok on footbridges with railings. The road ends below Podžiar, where you can have refreshments at the buffet. You can sit on the benches in the landscaped environment, and the meadow by the water is also inviting to relax. If you are one of the enthusiastic admirers of Slovak nature, take the time to go through all the parts. The Jánošík holes from Terchová - Biely Potok are well marked, you can use ladders and chains to walk along the exposed sections.
