Description of the attraction

Lednica Castle, which in the past served to protect the border, was built in the first half of the 13th century on a steep cliff above the village of Lednica. Due to its location, it was almost inaccessible. Today, there are only ruins in its place. This place is associated with a well-known legend about the White Lady of Lednice, who, according to her, once haunted this place. The legend tells about the subject Katarina, whom the castle lord wanted to win for himself. The girl refused to submit to him, ran away from his chambers and preferred to jump from the walls. At the place where she died, the villagers built a wooden cross. Today Lednica Castle is a sought-after tourist location that hides more than an interesting history. You will also be delighted by the beautiful nature in its surroundings. You can start the journey from the picturesque village of Lednica, which lies below the castle. It will take you approximately 15 minutes to climb from the center of the village. In addition to the opportunity to explore the ruins of the castle, your effort will be rewarded with beautiful views of the surroundings. You will be able to admire them best if you go up the stone staircase to the lookout tower at the top of the castle rampart.
