The Klauzy reservoir near Smižany is located in the beautiful surroundings of the Slovenský raj NP. The place will appeal to you during your visit with its extraordinary charm. It is surrounded by hills covered with thick forests and breathes a charming and romantic atmosphere throughout the year. Klauzy water reservoir has a long history behind it. Already in 1781, it was built on the site of the Belá stream due to the need to float wood. It passed through the hands of several owners, the most famous of which was the Csáky count family. The tank underwent reconstruction twice. In 1980, it was adapted for fish farming, and five years later it was declared a cultural monument. Children and less experienced tourists can go on a hike to the reservoir. You can sit on its banks and watch the reflection of the surrounding beauty on the water surface. Hills and conifer forests can be seen here as if in a mirror. A hiking trail will take you around the Klauzy reservoir, which crosses the Slovak Paradise. If you want to go further, you can head to the mouth of the Sokola dolina, to the Kyseľ gorge and up to the Tomašovský view. You can reach the reservoir from Kláštorisk or Čingovo.
