Description of the attraction

Košice is a place that attracts many historical buildings. One of them is located on the corner of Mlynská and Štefániková Streets and is Jakob's Palace, also known as Dzivák's Palace. This beautiful historical building was built in the Neo-Gothic style between 1899 and 1903 by designer Ing. Arpád Jakab. The palace was also named after him. Jakob's Palace will transport you to the world of the past. Once upon a time, it stood on the quiet and peaceful bank of the Mill Drive. Today, you will, unfortunately, be accompanied by the traffic of the four-lane road when you tour it from the outside. Jacob's Palace was built in memory of King Matej Corvín, as indicated by the commemorative plaque to the left of the entrance gate. It is interesting that during its construction, discarded stone parts from St. Elizabeth's Cathedral were used. On one of the walls of Jakab's palace, you will find another commemorative plaque. He talks about the fact that in 1945 the president of the Czechoslovak Republic, Dr. Edvard Beneš. Currently, this building belongs to the administration of the city of Košice and is not accessible to the public.
