Husitský kostolík v Lúčke

Description of the attraction

The Hussite church in Lúčka was built on the hill above the village in the 13th century. During the tenure of Ján Jiskra from Brandýs, it was fortified with a stone wall with a guard tower. This reconstruction turned it into a military fortress, which had the task of controlling the valley of the Čremošná stream. One of the medieval roads led through this strategic place. At the beginning of the 20th century, the Hussite church in Lúčka was used for the celebration of masses until it burned down during the First World War. In 1926, a new church was built in the village and the old one gradually fell into disrepair. The ruins of the church with fortifications are registered as a cultural monument. After undergoing conservation, it is in a relatively satisfactory condition. Classical music concerts are held on site. The lack of connection to the electricity network prevents the ruin from being used for other purposes. The Hussite church in Lúčka is freely accessible to tourists. If you want to know more about it, you can find the information on the board located below the slope.
