When you are on vacation in Šahá, one of the places you should visit is the Hontian Calvary. Its three-meter high, richly decorated chapels rise in the middle of a beautiful avenue of maple trees. The Hontian calvary was built in 1907 around Psie vrch. It is an artistic-historical work that is naturally embedded in the surrounding landscape. From Psie vrch there are beautiful views of the city skyline and the Ipľa valley. You will also see Štiavnické vrchy with Sitno, in the distance in front of you, with good visibility, the hills of Hungary will emerge. Statues of Christ and two rogues are installed at the top. Šahanská Hontian calvary is a place of pilgrimage. Here you will find peace for spiritual contemplation, you can also go for an easy walk.
