The famous hill of Vihorlat Sninský kamen is a prominent feature of the surroundings of Snina. The area has been protected as a natural monument since 1982, while the area of the protected area is 5.52 ha. The Sninský kamen is an outcropping andesite formation that rises southeast of the village of Zemplínske Hámre above the lake Morské oko. Its foothills consist of stony rubble shallow soils and consists of two rock formations. The smaller but higher Malý Sninský kamen reaches an altitude of 1,005 m. The second one, Veľký Sninský kamen, has an altitude of 998 m. You can reach the rocky cliffs using iron steps. From them you will have a breathtaking panoramic view of the surroundings of Snina. A simple cross is also placed on the Great Snin stone. Sninský kamen is a sought-after place for tourists. It is also a crossroads of hiking trails that lead from the ridge of the mountain range, from Zemplínské Hámry and from Snina. From here, you can head towards Morské oku and the village of Remetské Hámre via the Tri Table saddle. If you go east, you will come to Nežabec and the village of Podhoroď.
