Dračia studňa
Description of the attraction
Did you know that the largest and most extensive foam formation in the White Carpathians is located in the Bolešovská dolina below the Biely vrch ridge? It is the Dragon Well. This formation consists of deposits combined with landslides. Thanks to this composition, the location creates the impression of stairs. Dráčia well is a national natural monument. Its composition is a kind of "fossil record" from which a lot can be learned about the development of fauna and flora in this area since the last ice age. There are also beautiful waterfalls in the area. Their spring rises about 100 m higher. The most beautiful view of the waterfalls is in winter, when the water turns into massive ice and icicles. You can get to the place by following the forest educational trail Bolešov-Krivoklát starting in the Bolešov valley. The trail is 8.2 km long and the Dragon Well is its fourth stop. If you decide to continue the journey, you will pass the Chrastková mountain range, the end of the route is in the village of Krivoklát.
