Cyklotrasa po Pieninách
Description of the attraction
The beautiful Pieniny mountain range, which forms the baluster range, is a fairy-tale environment for undertaking bicycle tours. Pieniny really has a lot to offer in this regard. You can use the modified cycle paths that meander through varied terrain. In some sections, the path will be enriched by gentle jumps and fast descents. The Pieniny cycle route will allow you to get to know not only beautiful nature from the comfort of a bicycle, but also cultural attractions. Perhaps the most beautiful route is the break of the Dunajec. This easy cycle circuit is only 8 km long, and families with children and less skilled cyclists can handle it without any problems. The starting and ending point is the village of Červený Kláštor. The first kilometers lead under massive cliffs on the banks of the Dunajec River, whose surface is floated on rafts by burly Gorals. Along the way, you can also stop at numerous information boards. In the high season, you will meet many cyclists. When you want to rest, you can take a break in several places. Enthusiastic admirers of Slovak fauna and flora will find wonderful specimens typical of the Pieniny nature here. On the way back, the last kilometers of the cycle circuit will pass you by at a brisk pace down the hill. The Pieniny cycle route ends where it begins. If you did not have time to see the Carthusian Monastery before the start, we recommend that you do so now.
