Domica Cave is located in the Slovak Karst National Park on the southern edge of the Silica Plain. From the Slovak side, you can reach it from the town of Plešivec in the direction of Dlhú Ves. This place is perfect for those who want a small trip that both adults and children can enjoy. The Domica Cave forms a unique complex with the Baradla Cave in the Aggtelek Karst, on the territory of Hungary. Its length is up to 25 kilometers. When you visit, you can choose from two types of sightseeing routes: - short circuit — is 780 meters long and takes about 45 minutes, - long circuit — supplemented by an impressive boat ride on the underground river Styx is 930 meters long and takes 60 minutes. Domica cave will enchant you with the beauty of stalagmites, stalactites and stalagnates. Rare archeological finds dating back 5-6 thousand years were also discovered here, which are proof of settlement by prehistoric man. The rich decoration of the cave's halls also attracted the interest of filmmakers, who chose it for filming the fairy tale Salt over Gold in 1982. The Domica cave is open during the seasonal season, which starts here in February and ends in December. It is accessible by car, the parking lot is located near the entrance area.
