If you are among lovers of good hiking and charming views, one place for a trip awaits you near Modra. The Veľká Homoľa lookout tower is located here. The Veľká Homoľa lookout tower is built in a modern style. You can also meet it under the name Alexandra Filípka lookout. It was named after a former forest manager who took care of the local forests and was also responsible for the development of tourism. Its upper viewing platform is located at a height of up to 20.4 meters. On the way to the top, you will have to climb 120 steps, but the effort will certainly be worth it. From the observation tower you will have a beautiful view of the Small Carpathians, the Danube Plain, the White Carpathians, Považský Inovec, Vtáčnik, Tribeč, Strážovské vrchy and Pohronský Inovec. In good weather, you can see as far as Veľká Fatra, the Eastern Alps in Austria, Pavlovské vrchy and Chřiby in Moravia. You can rest under the shelter before the journey back. If you decide to continue the hike, you can head towards the rocky formation Traja jazdci, Pezinská Baba, Kamenné vrata or Zámčisko. Alexander Filípka Lookout is accessible from the bus stop near Zochova Chata following the red sign. This journey takes approximately 2.5 km. You can also go on a hike from Modra to Modra and from Pezinok to the red mark, later you will connect to the green one.
