Description of the attraction

An interesting place where you can go on a journey through time and return to the oldest periods of human history is the Living Archeopark in Hanušovce nad Topľou. It is the only living archaeological museum in nature in Slovakia, which provides you with a unique archaeological experience. The area of the archeopark is surrounded by a palisade with an entrance tower. Inside, you can see 5 dwellings in which you will learn how people lived in prehistoric times and the early Middle Ages. The dwellings are furnished with simple furniture and objects that were used for everyday activities. For an even better imagination, you will also find sculptures of a man, woman and child in hand-sewn clothes decorated with period accessories. Living Archeopark in Hanušovce also offers the opportunity to see replicas of archaeological objects from the Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age and Slavic period. The oldest object on display here is a leather tent. It is a replica of the form of a dwelling from around 30,000 years ago. The youngest exhibit is a Slavic log cabin from the 9th - 10th centuries. Our ancestors were also engaged in crafts, as evidenced by an important part of the area — a pottery workshop with a two-chamber kiln. The workshop is a faithful replica of the find from Prešov. You can also see the area with animals. The interesting thing is the replica of the glass furnace. The Living Archeopark in Hanušovce is an excellent place where you can spend a nice day even with children. In addition to the tour full of fun and learning about the past of our ancestors, you will have a pleasant rest in it.
